Kaliya Young is a public interest technologist, known as Identity Woman. She has spent the last 20 years of her career focused on one thing: supporting the emergence of an identity layer of the internet that works for and empowers people. A term was coined recently to describe this - self-sovereign identity. Democracy Innovator
Laura convenes the SHIFT Action Lab, which is bringing together practitioners across the often siloed democracy-supporting fields of bridging, organizing, and co-governance. Previously, Laura focused her time on supporting the equitable adoption of solar energy in Philadelphia, through her roles with the Philadelphia Energy Authority and a cooperative neighborhood-based solar project. Laura attributes much of her effectiveness to her time spent as a youth climate organizer in her teens and twenties. More here
